High-quality fiction involves hard work and persistence. Study your craft, attend workshops, read widely and share your work with other skilled writers. The trick is to put all your ideas into a useable format without killing your desire to write.

Below are some tools to make your writing journey a little easier. If there is something you'd like to see on this page, contact me and I'll see what I can do.

Prowriting aid - improve your writing and grammar

Simple, effective editing software

Even the best writers need to edit their work. But it’s always tricky to figure out what to improve when you’re editing on your own.

That's where editing software like ProWritingAid comes in. It's an invaluable tool for authors, whether you intent to traditionally or independently publish.
  • It saves you money by enabling you to get your manuscript in the best possible shape before sending it to an editor.
  • It prevents you from burning bridges by sending an unpolished manuscript to an agent or publisher.
  • It teaches you about the all important grammar and sentence structure as you work through suggested corrections.
  • It offers the most detailed reports on the market, checking your work for grammar, spelling mistakes, typos, punctuation errors, weak adjectives, repetitive words, clichés, plagiarism, sentence length, pacing, dialogue tags, and to improve the readability of your writing. (And so much more!)
  • It works on anything you write from social media posts and emails to blogs and novels.
  • You can use it on any device or platform, anywhere, anytime.

The best part? It is a cost effective way to improve your writing for the rest of your life. Seriously, no ongoing fees, just an upfront purchase price.

I've seen huge improvement in the writers that use it and in my own books, so what are you waiting for?

weebly - easy author website

Want to build an author website?

What do you really need when you're just starting out as an author?
I recommend having a very basic, free website. Don't waste money monthly before you have money coming in. All you need is a page with information about you, e.g. why you write, what you write, something interesting about your life and a good photo, as well as a contact page (use a built-in form rather than having your email or phone number displayed to the public). Only add a blog if blogging is something you enjoy doing regularly.

What about when you are published?
Now is a good time to buy a web domain and include links to your book(s) on your website. There are all sorts of extra pages you can add, but the truth is that so long as you have the basics, people can find you.

I recommend Weebly
I've used Weebly for a decade, to build a professional and flexible website. Their customer service has always been excellent, even when I wasn't paying for my site.

Use my referral link below, and when you upgrade to a paid plan you'll get 10% off. I can't wait to see what you make!
