High quality fiction involves hard work and persistence. Study your craft, attend workshops, read widely and share your work with other skilled writers. The trick is to put all your ideas into a useable format without killing your desire to write.

Want to build an author website?
What do you really need when you're just starting out as an author?
I recommend having a very basic, free website. Don't waste money monthly before you have money coming in. All you need is a page with information about you, e.g. why you write, what you write, something interesting about your life and a good photo, as well as a contact page (use a built-in form rather than having your email or phone number displayed to the public). Only add a blog if blogging is something you enjoy doing regularly.
What about when you are published?
Now is a good time to buy a web domain and include links to your book(s) on your website. There are all sorts of extra pages you can add, but the truth is that so long as you have the basics, people can find you.
I recommend Weebly
I've used Weebly for a decade, to build a professional and flexible website. Their customer service has always been excellent, even when I wasn't paying for my site.
Use my referral link below, and when you upgrade to a paid plan you'll get 10% off. I can't wait to see what you make!
