How do I join?

It's simple, book a chat with Sandy Vaile to see if we are a good fit to work together. This gives you  the opportunity to ask any questions you have and to make sure you feel comfortable with me. 

This program isn't for everyone, so I like to chat with candidates to make sure they are a good fit, which means you meet certain criteria (see below) so you will have the greatest chance of seeing massive results.

who can join?

Authors are selected for this program based on a few criteria:  

• They must be coachable, which means having basic fiction writing skills, a willingness to accept guidance and try new things. 
• They must have written fiction before or have a solid story idea to work with.
• They are passionate about writing a quality story.
• They have regular time to dedicate to fiction writing and are self-motivated to implement what they learn.
• Their story is novel length (not a short story) and in a contemporary fiction genre. You might not be sure which genre your story fits into, and that's okay, we can figure it out together. 

I don't work with people who are writing children's books, memoirs, erotica, poetry, non-fiction, historical stories.

If you have already spent time learning different craft techniques (reading blogs or books, attending workshops, sharing your work) and have a great idea for a story (in your head, partially written or ready for fixing), then this program can absolutely work for you.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Like anything in life,  the more you put into it, the more you get out of it, and writing a book is no different. The lessons will take up to an hour each week, depending on whether you do the bonus exercises in the workbook. This is in addition to your own story writing time.

Plus there are optional live group coaching sessions, which I strongly recommend because it's the perfect venue to problem solve and learn from other authors, not to mention a massive inspiration booster. I understand you probably won't be able to make it every week. 

Writing time is precious, so I've designed each lesson to improve an aspect of your story, with spare time just to write and implement what you've learnt. After all, the whole point is for you to get this book finished and polished!

how and when is it delivered?

The program runs year round and is delivered through the Fearless Prose training portal, which you will keep access to for the life of program (long after you complete the course material). 

Sandy Vaile will be the one delivering the training material and supporting your journey all the way.

​Here are the details: 

• Lessons are pre-recorded videos, released most weeks*, which you can watch and rewatch to your heart's content. 
• There is a workbook to accompany each lesson, so you don't get hand cramp taking notes, with bonus exercises. 
• There will be an assignment to complete most weeks*, which I'll provide feedback on. 
• You can message Sandy Vaile directly and upload assignments inside the training portal. 
• You'll get access to a private Facebook group with additional tips, resources and free events. 

*I've purposely built some free time into the program, for you to practise through writing/editing your manuscript and catch-up on lessons or assignments. 

how many people are in the group?

Due to the high degree of personalised support, I keep the participant numbers low (up to 20). No matter the number of participants, you will have plenty of access to ask me questions and work through story problems.

If I find there are too many people in one group chat time, I'll open up another option, so everyone gets time to be heard. 

what if I'm not tech savvy?

I sympathise if you're not tech savvy and feel a little daunted by joining an online program, but you can be sure you won't be left alone to deal with any issues you may encounter.

• Once you have successfully logged into the Fearless Prose training portal, you can save the shortcut and keep going to the same place.
• The same goes for the live video chats; once you have successfully chatted with Sandy Vaile, you will find it easy to click on a link and join subsequent individual and group sessions. 
• There is an instruction video to help you navigate the basic functions on the platform.
• If you get stuck at any time, you can email Sandy Vaile directly. 

what if i can't make the group chats? 

There's no need to stress if you can't (or don't want to) participate in the group coaching sessions. You can work through the program lessons on your own and will still be able to chat with me one-on-one and have unlimited access via email. 

Plus, I will share recordings of most group chats, so you can watch them at a time that suits you. 

WHAT IF I NEED TIME OFF?

We can't predict ill health, family crises, accidents or pandemic outbreaks (or maybe you've already booked a fabulous holiday).
